  1. Because of Google's urging, more and more http traffic is now being replaced by https traffic. This can lead to install errors. For example, at https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-visual-studio-code/ The install code for installing Visual Studio Code is curl -L https://code.headmelted.com/installers/apt.sh | sudo bash This code threw errors. First, I had to install apt-transport-https with sudo apt-get install apt-transport-https Then, I had to modify the bash script, so I downloaded it first. curl -L https://code.headmelted.com/installers/apt.sh > apt.sh line 49 needs to be commented out by starting it with a # Line 50 needs to be uncommented by removing the #. Line 50 will then read apt-get install -t ${repo_name} -y --allow-unauthenticated ${code_executable_name}; This will then allow the install of code-oss to complete. Yay!
